The Altar

Chad Pippin

As the church, we are instructed in the Scripture to bring our burdens and requests to God. It is an invitation to receive His grace, mercy and assistance in our personal lives.

One of the chief ways we carry out the ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ is through prayer.

The Altar ministry is an opportunity for the pastors, elders and leaders of the church to pray for you in your particular place of need or concern. The Altar provides a context for those in need to receive compassion, encouragement, godly wisdom and, most of all, prayer. In prayer, all our needs, concerns, fears, hopes and dreams are lifted into the presence of God and laid at His feet.

Every week, hundreds of requests for prayer are received at our weekend gatherings and through our web site. Each request is prayed for by the elders and pastors of the church. When you make your request through The Altar online, you receive a personal response from a pastor, elder or church leader.

Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. ~James 5:13-16

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. ~Philippians 4:6-7
