Fasting & Prayer Update – Week 6

Fasting & Prayer

Every Friday this summer at Big Valley Grace Community Church, we want to join together in the spiritual discipline of fasting & prayer as a church family. Each Friday as we fast, we will be directing our prayers toward a different need; for our personal lives, for our church family, and for our community and government. Join us this Friday as we fast and pray for churches in our area!

Praying for our partners in the gospel:

The Apostle Paul often encouraged fellow believers in other Christ-centered churches by letting them know that he was praying for them. In his letter to the church at Ephesus, he writes,

I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. (Ephesians 1:3-6, NIV)

How does Paul pray for them?

And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God. (Ephesians 1:9-11)

We are blessed to have a number of Bible-believing, Christ-centered churches in our area! Here are a few you can pray for:

Calvary Chapel
Christ Fellowship
Church in the Park
Covenant Grove
La Loma Grace Brethren
Mill Creek
Modesto Covenant
Neighborhood Church
Prescott Evangelical Free
Redemption Hill
Shelter Cove
Sherwood Bible Church
The Carpenter’s House
The House
The One Church
The Well
Trinity Presbyterian
True Light

Ideas on how to pray:

For the spiritual and physical well-being of the pastor & staff
That the gospel of Jesus Christ is preached
That lives are changed
That believers in would live out their faith
