Our Good Samaritan Ministry, or “Good Sam,” provides food assistance for people living in Stanislaus County. The name comes from Luke 10:25-37, where Jesus teaches what it means to “love your neighbor as yourself.” Loving God and loving people go hand in hand! In this biblical parable, a traveling Samaritan saw a man in great need and he showed him compassion. This Good Samaritan cared for the man and met his practical needs. In the same way, our Good Sam Ministry helps reach a practical need of food assistance in Stanislaus County. More than 200 families receive food assistance every month! Meeting this physical need also creates the opportunity to share about our greatest spiritual need: the hope of Jesus!
