ADVANCING VIBRANT COMM. – Pray for our volunteers and participants to make decisions and live for Jesus.
LOVE MODESTO: Please pray for Love Modesto April 13 preparations, the day of and beyond. Once again, we’re encouraging churches to go through our outreach training ( Outreach ) or their own training before April 13 so that we’re prepared to ask questions and share our faith with so many people we’ll be interacting with on April 13 and beyond.
MODESTO PREGNANCY CENTER: We have a couple staff positions open (Finance Director & ultrasound nurse) and are praying that God brings the right person to fill those positions. We have several moms who come weekly to our Incentive Program classes that are due soon. They ask each week if we would pray for healthy babies and a safe delivery. We have made some changes to our clinic procedures. Could you be praying that we would have a smooth change over that would not impact our clients. We just want to serve them well and keep those doors of communication open. The spring season is extremely busy for our Community Ed department in various schools. Pray that hearts would be softened to the truth that is presented at each school and that relationships would be built.
VINE HOUSE: Please pray for the preparations and volunteers leading up to the Vine House Gala on May 10, 2019.

It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else’s foundation. Rather as it is written, “Those who were not told about him will see, and those who have not heard will understand.”
COMPETITIVE EDGE: Praise the Lord Kierstie’s support is coming in; in less than 2 months, God’s provided about 30% of her monthly goal! Keep praying for God’s provision and encouragement as she transitions from her “A” list to her “B” list! Pray for me, too, as I begin to lay out some tracks for Kierstie’s new staff training once she reports. Pray for God’s financial provision as our team members raise support for their summer missions with us. Pray for God to raise up a coach or athlete for our team to the Middle East who can teach pitching. Pray, too, for our staff as we work with our international partners in preparing for the arrival of our teams. And it’s never too early to pray that the hearts of the unreached we interact with will be prepared to hear and respond to the good news of Jesus!
NORTH INDIA: Pray for the General Elections in our nation this April. That there will be a peaceful atmosphere in the communities, and harmony among all people groups and political parties. Pray the pace of our work will not be affected negatively. Pray for my brother Joshua who will be going for review in April to Vellore Hospital.
Praise: I give praise for all the volunteers who helped us in our various CHE activities. I am thankful for the time and commitment they give to CHE.
I give praise for all the young men and women who participated in Children’s CHE training recently, for their interest and eagerness to learn and for the dedication of the trainers
GERMANY: The whole attitude toward refugees in Europe has shifted dramatically — especially those who were in Scandinavia. Many are coming to Germany as their last hope and very desperate. We just finished caring for a group of 10 church asylum refugees (almost all have put their trust in Christ) and they can now stay in Germany to present their case — and now we are getting requests to take in more. One case which has cost Karoline some sleep is Taqi and his family (wife and three children) from Afghanistan. They have gone through a lot of traumatic experiences and now, in spite of our legal efforts, they are being threatened with imminent deportation. This could unleash a dangerous reaction from this desperate family. Presently we can not find a place to house them. Pray that the right doors will be opened and that Taqi and his family will find peace in Jesus Christ. Taqi is presently taking our discipleship/baptism preparation course. Not only has my right hand been limited in use lately, but the two other elders in the local church here are absent and not able to support me as usual. Daniel S. will be gone for two months in the U.S. — he is digging through documents stored at the National Archives in Washington, D.C. Lutz G., the other elder, has been having serious struggles with depression for a while and will also be gone until Easter at a clinic for some time to relax, re-collect and get some therapy. Pray that he will be able to view things more from God’s perspective during this process and return refreshed and stronger than before as Elijah did in 1. Kings 19. Please pray that I will have extra grace during this time and other leaders in the church will step in to take their place. Our Tire Change evangelistic effort is scheduled for March 30th. We have found this a very effective means of developing a good reputation with unchurched/atheist people in our city and those we serve take a lot of books and tracts home with them. Pray that this will be used to draw people to a saving faith in Jesus Christ. Mortez is an Afghan young man who grew up in Iran. He has been coming to our church for about a year now. He lives in a city about hour’s drive from us. A few days ago he came to our home to pour out his heart and confess that he has a drug problem. Up until 6 months ago he was using crystal meth. He has stopped for six months, but knows that unless God fills this vacuum in his life he’ll fail. I’ve found a mature Afghan pastor who is willing to counsel/support him and keep him accountable. Pray with us that Mortez will completely commit his life to Christ and he will experience a lasting freedom.
GROVER’S: Pray for our transition out of Dar es Salaam Tanzania in the coming months as a result of not being granted our work permits.
- This includes all the details of packing up, and saying goodbye to friends.
- Pray for me (Luke) as I strengthen my ties with my Tanzanian partners that I plan to continue working with in the new role.
- Pray that we will finish well emotionally and with the ministry we have in process.
Pray for the details that need to happen in order to transition to Nairobi Kenya.
- Praise God our kids were accepted into an international school there.
- Our biggest need is to obtain a Kenyan Work Permit through our national partner.
- We also need to begin all the other details related with a move including moving our household items to Nairobi from Dar, finding a house, finding a car, and learning our way around the city.
Pray for overall Peace and resolve.
- The Lord has worked in many ways that demonstrate his hand in this and we are convinced he is asking us to move in faith. However, there are many unknows and potential for details to work out differently than we expected. We pray for peace and faith to move forward boldly.
- Pray for our children’s emotional health as they face transition once again.
HUNNICUTT’S: The Hunnicutts are in Modesto for a few months to take care of some personal family matters, in consultation with their mission agency. Pray for them as Lili attends BVCS for two periods and does school online, they continue a chunk of the work in Slovenia online, as they work on the things they are here for. Pray for Laramie Brown and family as they take the lead in the International Church in Ljubljana. Pray for this as they have just passed 6 months in Slovenia, to be able to settle in more, to learn Slovene, etc.
SLOVENIA: Pray for the 20,000 unengaged, unreached Deaf community in Slovenia that do not know Jesus. Pray for the opportunity to build a STM or ministry resource for the Deaf population to understand the Gospel.
VIETNAM Mission Outreach: Hanoi Team (Flo, Robin, Cheryl and Melodie) – Continued protection from the evil one in our lives – I have been unwell for the last 3 weeks; one of gals has a challenging family situation. Pray for God’s grace, His strength, and trust through it all. Pray for safe travels and meaningful relationships as a direct result of the visit. Pray for moments to share the Gospel. We know God is sovereign and He will see to all of these situations. David – a time of rest now that he is home. This has been a challenging trip, India was tough.
