Big Valley Grace Family,
Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. - Romans 12:10 ESV
We want to share with you that Pastor Scott Butler has accepted a job as Executive Pastor at Atlantic Shores Baptist Church in Virginia Beach, VA. Scott has served faithfully as Pastor of Worship at Big Valley Grace for over 14 years. During this time he has honored Jesus Christ with how he has led his ministry and his family. Scott has been a source of inspiration and joy to countless staff, volunteers and worshippers at Big Valley Grace. Scott is dearly loved and is worthy of honor.
As part of his role as Executive Pastor at Atlantic Shores Baptist Church, Scott will provide oversight to the worship & production ministries of his new church, and will continue using his God-given ability to lead worship during weekend gatherings. This couldn't bring us more joy! We all have been blessed by Scott's amazing worship leading ability and we know that the people of his new church will be equally blessed.
Susie Butler (Scott's wife) has served for eight years at Big Valley Christian School as Assistant to the Superintendent. She has also been heavily involved with our parenting ministry, teaching classes and providing guidance and wisdom to many young mothers. She has served with great integrity and excellence in both of these areas and will be sorely missed.
We will be honoring Scott and Susie during our weekend gatherings on June 13 & 14, which will be their last weekend with us. You won’t want to miss this special moment! Pastor Rick and our team are preparing a very special tribute that will honor and celebrate Scott and all that God has accomplished through his ministry at Big Valley Grace. The Butlers will be leaving town on June 15, in order to arrive in Virginia, settle in and prepare for their son Austin's wedding.
Scott was able to share from his heart about this process and his decision during our church staff meeting on Tuesday, June 2. We would like to share this moment with you.
