Taming the Beast

Taming the Beast is a weekly men’s Bible study through the book of James designed to help men confront one of the greatest battles they face—the battle within. Our words, our tempers, our impulses, and our desires can either build a life of strength and integrity or quietly tear it apart. James doesn’t offer soft advice; he gives practical, straight-forward wisdom for living with real faith and real self-control.
In this study, we’ll walk through James together and learn how to master the areas that often master us—our tongue, our anger, our reactions, and our choices. Each week will challenge men to move beyond simply hearing God’s Word and begin living it out in everyday life.
This isn’t about becoming perfect. It’s about becoming disciplined, steady, and spiritually strong. As we learn to “tame the beast” within us, we’ll discover the power of a life marked by wisdom, self-control, and authentic faith.
Come grow alongside other men who want to lead their lives, families, and faith with strength and integrity.

The annual Tailgate Party is a BVG Men’s tradition that never disappoints! There’s a bbq & chili competition, live music, fun times with old friends and making new friends, and a great time of worship and testimony together! As always, it’s one of the highlights of our year!
OFF-ROAD CHALLENGE
June 1, 2024
Our first ever OFF ROAD CHALLENGE was an event to remember—mud, 4×4 vehicles, the course, everyone who got stuck, everyone who cheered, the adults, kids, time to talk about God, great food, and more MUD!!!
With 35 drivers and hundreds of spectators, most of which were from the community, it was a great way to spend the day together having good “clean” fun!
