Big Valley Grace Community Church and Christian School is seeking a detail-oriented and spiritually grounded Bookkeeper to join our finance team. This full-time role (32-hour-per-week full-time position) supports both the church and school, ensuring our financial operations run smoothly and with excellence.

 

Position Summary

As the Bookkeeper, you’ll work closely with our Pastor of Finance and Accounting Manager to maintain accurate records, process payroll, manage tuition and student accounts, and serve our families and staff with professionalism and care. You’ll use platforms such as FACTS SIS & Tuition Management, Shelby Financial, and TimeClock to carry out key financial tasks.

  • Strong experience in administrative or bookkeeping roles
  • Proficiency in Excel/spreadsheet tools and bookkeeping software
  • Attention to detail, organization, and excellent communication skills
  • A heart for customer service and the ability to maintain confidentiality and accuracy

 

Responsibilities Include

  • Enter invoices, reimbursements, and journal entries
  • Process tuition changes, discounts, and assistance in FACTS
  • Prepare and process payroll semi-monthly
  • Reconcile bank statements and general ledgers
  • Assist families with billing questions and support
  • Maintain accurate student census and tuition records
  • Collaborate with school and church staff across departments

 

What You’ll Need

  • Previous experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or administrative finance

This Role Involves

  • On-campus, on-sight work
  • Sitting, typing, and using office equipment regularly
  • Occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs) and walking
  • Occasional travel for training and ministry events

 

Compensation

  • $19–$23 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Description

Title: High School Bible Teacher

The position of Bible teacher at Big Valley Christian School is a God-honoring, Jesus-focused, Holy Spirit-led ministerial position of spiritual leadership.

 

Requirements

  • The BVCS Campus Pastor must be an active, healthy member at Big Valley Grace.
  • A seminary degree is desirable.
  • Pastoral church experience is desirable.
  • Have the ability to effectively teach and disciple High School students, staff, and parents.

 

Teaching Duties

  • Have the utmost focus on Biblical integration/Christ-centered instruction in all areas of teaching.
  • Be committed to regular prayer with your students and for your students and families.
  • Teach Biblically integrated curriculum/subjects and classes as assigned using the curriculum, supplementary materials, field trips, special guests, etc. to enhance them.
  • Teaching at the majority of Preschool, Elementary, Junior High, and High School Chapels.
  • Attend and participate in the following:
    • Arrive at least thirty minutes prior to the start of class and to remain on campus at least thirty minutes after classes have been dismissed
    • Morning devotions
    • Teacher’s meetings
    • Evening programs if involving his/her students
    • Other meeting or activities as assigned
    • Faculty orientation and school closure session
    • Supervise before and after school, recess and lunch duty as assigned by the Administration
    • Carry out other specific duties as assigned
    • Be present for such meetings and conferences as may be called by the administration.
    • Attend school functions as directed and requested, including, but not limited to, co-curricular activities, athletic, fine arts and student body activities and fundraising activities and events;
  • Complete records/communications including the following:
    • Progress report
    • Report cards
    • Grade records for permanent file (report cards, test scores, etc.)
    • Inventories of classroom equipment/supplies/books
    • Records of attendance
    • FACTS announcement and gradebook
    • Google Classroom weekly outline of instruction
    • Other records/communications as assignments or requested
    • Observe appropriate confidentiality in regard to pupil, parent, and school matters.
  • Building/classroom cleaning and repair:
    • Be responsible for daily and end-of-year cleaning classroom area
    • Assist in overall cleanliness of faculties
    • Promptly report repair needs to the Director of Operation via email
  • Maintain proper classroom discipline, taking care of minor problems personally and referring major problems to the administration.
  • Understand, appreciate, love, and serve the pupils entrusted to me for instruction, and will, to the best of your ability, provide for their fullest spiritual, intellectual, academic, physical, and emotional development.
  • Be available to any parents or students who wish to have a conference before or after school
  • Hold a yearly conference with parents of each student
  • Apply for the highest level of ACSI Certificate within 15 days of signing your agreement. ACSI certification or equivalent for accreditation requirements must be maintained while employed.
  • A Standard ACSI Teaching Certificate must be obtained by the end of fourth year of teaching at BVCS.
  • Fully commit to excellent communications with parents and students, faculty, and administration to maintain the Big Valley Christian School standard of excellence in all areas of performance, and to promote Big Valley Christian School in a positive light at all times to all Big Valley Christian School constituents (parents, students, faculty and community)
  • Meet technology standards necessary for the effectiveness in specific department, classroom and within the greater Big Valley Christian School community, and to fully support and commitment to excellence in educational technology and effective communication avenues
  • Read, understand, accept, comply, abide by and fully support all policies, procedures, position statements, regulations and conditions of employment as set forth in all of Big Valley Christian School’s written policies and procedures, including but not limited to those policies and procedures as set forth in Big Valley Christian’s most recent Employee Handbook, Faculty and Student/Parent Handbooks and Procedural Guidelines.
  • Abide by any additions, changes, or deletions made to school policies, procedures, mandates, etc. at the sole discretion of the Elder Board without prior notice during the agreement year.

Job Summary

The Production Assistant supports the weekend worship experience at Big Valley Grace Community Church by preparing lighting cues, presentation slides, and coordinating volunteer schedules. This role requires technical proficiency, creativity, and a heart for ministry through production.

 

Key Responsibilites

  • Prepare and program lighting cues and presentation slides for weekend services.
  • Schedule and coordinate production team volunteers.
  • Assist with basic audio engineering tasks as needed.
  • Learn and operate various production and presentation software.
  • Collaborate with staff on media needs for services and events.

 

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Proficiency in presentation software (e.g., ProPresenter, PowerPoint).
  • Quick learner with new software and production tools.
  • Basic understanding of audio systems.
  • Experience with video editing, photo editing, or graphic design is strongly preferred (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, Canva).

Temporary and On-Call

Big Valley Grace Community Church worships every weekend in multi-generational gatherings, connects in authentic community, grows in obedience to God’s Word, serves others with our God-given talents, and reaches our local and global communities with the love of Jesus.

The Position

BVGCC is seeking loving childcare workers to supervise children and provide basic Bible teaching on weekdays and during special events. Children requiring supervision range in age from birth to 12 years old. BVG church membership, regular church attendance, and a personal relationship with Christ are required for employment.

Duties

  • Oversee volunteers and enforce proper caregiver procedures
  • Greet and check-in children
  • Interact appropriately with children and their parents
  • Help collect, pack, and put things away at the end of the time, making sure the classroom is ready for weekend gatherings

Responsibilities 

  • Come prepared with an understanding of the curriculum. Curriculum can be found on the church website
  • Follow the schedule provided, conducting classroom activities at the appointed times
  • Teach God’s Word to preschool aged children through interactive storytelling, singing and crafts.

Other Expectations

  • Always show the love of Jesus to children
  • Demonstrate concern for children’s care and safety
  • Wear Midweek Childcare shirt while working
  • Arrive on time; reliable transportation required
  • Ability to sit, stand, see, hear, and speak clearly; read and write English proficiently
  • Clock-in to timeclock
