WHAT ARE NEIGHBORHOOD MEETUPS?

We believe that God has placed each of us at a residence for a reason. Neighborhood Meetups are simply opportunities to get outside and host a casual get-together with your neighbors! Let’s be good neighbors in our city and fight the “backyard tendency” by getting out front!

- LET US KNOW -

Whether you are just beginning to pray about what other household(s) to invite or are already excitedly making plans for the next meetup date, we’d love to know! How come?

– We want to be praying for your meetup and neighborhood!

– We’d love to know what area of town you’re reaching!

– We’re here to partner and support any way we can as you

How to let us know?

Simply text “HOST” to 833-577-1604 or write “HOST” on a Connect Card

national night out

August 3 || Neighborhood Meet Up

National Night Out is the first Tuesday in August and is recognized across the country as an evening to be outside among neighbors to build strong, anti-drug & anti-crime communities!

ACTIVITY IDEAS
-MOVIE NIGHT: Set a show time and invite your neighbors to bring a lawn chair and their favorite movie snack! Use a projector on an outdoor screen or the garage door (need help figuring this out, let us know!)

-GAME NIGHT: Prepare a game or several, ranging from charades to a cornhole tournament, and make an evening of it! Let your neighbors know what the game is and when to drop by!

Labor Day

September 6 || Neighborhood Meet Up

Labor Day is the first Monday in September and often signals the summer season and break coming to an end. Labor Day is a federal holiday across the United States, so it’s a great day to host a meetup since there’s a good chance your neighbors are free and looking for what to do!

ACTIVITY IDEAS
-CHALK WALK: If your neighbors have kids, invite them over to make a “Chalk Walk” outside on the sidewalk in the neighborhood! Including hopscotch, a bible verse or other encouragement, and instructions to make the walk fun (jumping, avoiding certain elements, running, puzzles, etc.).

-BBQ/PICNIC: Find a spot with shade and invite your neighbors to bring lawn chairs or a blanket for a little grilling or picnic! Nothing fancy, even some skewers and some socially distanced hotdog grilling is a win! If not the grilling type, invite your neighbors to bring a picnic and enjoy eating all together as a neighborhood!

halloween

October 31 || Neighborhood Meet Up

Halloween is a popular American holiday where neighbors, especially families, are naturally out of their homes and out in the neighborhood!

ACTIVITY IDEAS
-PUMPKIN CARVING: During the day, invite your neighbors to bring their own pumpkin and enjoy a time of decorating and/or carving! Set out some old newspapers or some covering on the driveway and start getting creative with those pumpkins!

-DRIVEWAY TRUNK OR TREAT: Invite your neighbors to come over and hang out “tailgate style” during the early trick-or-treat rush (before too dark and when most of the younger families are out)! Pool the neighborhood candy and pass it out together and meet even more neighbors!
