Week 10 — Tuesday: Prayer’s Power

Ephesians 6:12-18; James 5:13-16

Have you ever had a season in life where it seemed like, at every turn, something was going wrong? Suffering, hardship, financial difficulties, relational problems, even struggling with depression—all fall under the category of spiritual battles.

In Ephesians 6:17-18, we find the only offensive tool in this spiritual battle is the Sword of the Spirit! In verse 18, scripture talks about praying in the Spirit at all times, on every occasion being persistent in our prayers. This is where the power comes from to get us through any and every spiritual battle.

One of the interesting things I have realized since being called to ministry in 2010 is that the harder I push toward Christ and the deeper my relationship with Him, the spiritual battle gets ramped up, and attacks seem to come from every direction. God has also shown me during this season of life how powerful the prayers of the saints are in protecting me.

The last thing I want to share is that we truly don’t have any control, security, or power in our own self. God is in control, our security is in Christ, and the power to overcome comes from the Holy Spirit. My prayer for you all is that you will find power in God’s Spirit no matter what you’re going through and that you will be persistent in those prayers!
